How to Complete Aadhaar Document Update Online for Free?
****************
UIDAI advises users to update their Aadhaar information since it will increase service, delivery, and authentication success rates.
For the next three months, the Unique Identifying Authority of India (UIDAI) is offering free online updates for Aadhaar cards, the 12-digit identifying number that is specific to each enrolled resident in India. In order to revalidate a user's demographic information, mainly if their Aadhaar card was issued ten years ago or more, the procedure for updating the Aadhaar documents online, which will cost Rs. 50 at physical Aadhaar centres, requires the submission of Proof of Identity and Proof of Address documents.
Although the UIDAI says that updating demographic information online will contribute to "improved the standard of living, better service delivery and enhances authentication success rate," doing so is not required.
Aadhaar updates like information can be corrected online by a simple process that take only a few minutes to complete. Depending on the revised demographic data, users will need to submit scanned copies of the original Proof of Identity and Proof of Address documents. According to the UIDAI, these corrections can be made for free until June 14 but at the physical centres, this costs Rs. 50.
You can follow the steps below to update your Aadhaar details online for free before June 14.
